Life aint that simple, is it?
May be it is, may be not… who knows?

ALMOST FAMOUS.

Almost famous is a good movie. For sure it is.
It’s a story about a young amateur naive 'journalist', William Miller. A story set in the backdrop of the hippie age of 1970's in the US of A. The age of drugs, sex, rock n roll. It takes us through the journey of William as he gets an opportunity to travel and interview the budding rock band 'Still waters' through its tour of 73. The naïve boy of 15 in his sojourn gets to have a first hand experience in the ways of the world. Love, fame, adulation, alcohol, drugs, sex… neglect, lies he sees it all. The amazing portrayal of his infatuation for this girl Penny lane, who happens to be a fan/girlfriend of the lead singer Russell Hammond, played by Kate Hudson, and his completely frustrating situation as to making her realize that she is wasting time for him, is really commendable. Performances by Frances Mc Dormand as Miller's controlling mother n by Zooey Deschanel(of The Flintstones fame) as miller's loving sister are also worth a mention.
The point that really makes me appreciate the movie is its clear n concise depiction of the life of a rock band/ in a band from a clear point of view. The wild, carefree yet adulterated life of the hippies also comes on the fore in the depiction. It really at some point of the movie makes us reflect back on our own lives and think if all the carefree life we are leading, is totally worth it? Or is returning to all the harsh realities of life, getting trapped and tramped in it, the solution of it all?
The answer to all lies with us.
The movie was great.
